Step 1: In the main window of Norton Internet Security, click Settings as shown in the image below:

Step 2: Expand the Network Settings tab and click Configure next to Advanced Settings

Step 3: Click the Configure link next to the General Rules options, as shown below:

Step 4: Scroll down the list of rules to locate the Default Block Inbound and Outbound ICMP (Block). By default this option is checked. Make sure the option is unchecked and then click ok.

This will allow Visualware software to send and receive ICMP packets and therefore perform correctly.

Uncheck the option shown above.
