VisualRoute is the Tool of Choice for Training Police to Solve Internet Crime - Canadian Police CollegeThe Canadian Police College (CPC), located in Ottawa, Canada recently completed the third course of the calendar year dealing with the investigation of cybercrime. Investigators from across North America and from around the world have attended the course over the past seven years. The CPC is the major training facility for law enforcement in Canada and the home of the famed Royal Canadian Mounted Police Musical Ride.G-Wag Inc. provided training dealing with the tracking and tracing of messages and illegal content on the Internet during the second week of the course. G-Wag Inc. has been providing training at the Police College since 1996 and was formed by retired technological crimes detectives. 
VisualRoute was the tool of choice used for the tracking tracing exercises completed by the students. The second week of the course dealt with IRC (Internet Relay Chat), Instant Messaging, E-mail Header interpretation, World Wide Web sites and the Usenet. The ease of use and integrated design of the VisualRoute application is the major reason for its integration into the training course. The photo shows the classroom and one of the instructors. |
