Visualware Software Selected By Symantec for New Service to Help Users Identify the Source of Network Intrusions
VisualRoute® Technology is Key to New Web Service to Help Users to Identity Hackers
TURLOCK, CALIF -- FEBRUARY 5, 2002 -- Visualware, Inc. today announced that Symantec Corporation (NASDAQ: SYMC) has selected its IP geo-location technology for a new Web service to assist users in determining the identity of network intruders. Using this technology, visitors to the Symantec Security Check Web site (http://security.symantec.com) will be able to input an IP address or domain name and learn its location, which is clearly displayed on a world map.

"Our VisualRoute Server product will be used to provide an online service that locates would-be intruders, and our IPMap server product will be used to keep track of them on a historical basis."
